Council's in-home energy assessment program provides information to Kingston residents on rebate funding through the Victorian Energy Upgrades program. Basic information is also provided on available financing options for ESD for non-residential buildings.

Description

Council promotes Environmental Upgrade Finance (EUF) and provides advice on Victorian energy efficiency certificates (VEECs) and Federal Government carbon credit units (ACCUs) for energy efficiency projects.

Council also helps businesses to utilise other government incentives (ATO Temporary full expensing) and Solar Victoria rebates. Tax incentives and VEECS typically reduce the simple payback period by 40% (from 5 to 3 years.).

Council also provides letters of support for government funding for new technology projects. One business has received a $250,000 grant for a waste to energy project which will reduce emissions by approximately 70 tCO2e/ year.
