Council is supporting residents to identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and thermal comfort.

Description

Council has created simplified checklists with information on how to retrofit, renovate or build sustainably. Homeowners can also book a 10-minute appointment with an ESD Officer.

The pilot of 40 in-home energy assessments was delivered, aimed at helping Kingston residents reduce energy use and save money. An evaluation of the trial has been undertaken to determine next steps.

Kingston Libraries now have induction cook tops available to borrow via Kingston’s library catalogue. These provide a useful demonstration of the power and convenience of induction cooking compared to gas, helping residents “trial” transitioning to a fully electric home.
