Council is reducing Council’s fleet (number, size and fuel use) and transitioning away from vehicles with internal combustion engines

Description

Council is replacing petrol-driven fleet vehicles with all electric options. Council has 23 hybrids and 5 electric vehicles including 2 utes and 2 vans.

Fossil-fuel based tools including ride-on mowers are also being transitioned to battery power.

Additional EV chargers have been installed.

    Operational changes

    Council's motor vehicle policy, parking arrangements and fleet utilisation are being reviewed to inform changes to the passenger fleet.

    Information on charging, battery maintenance and other benefits will be provided to all relevant staff.

    e-bike education is already provided.

    A request for tender will be issued to the market to secure the most suitable solution for Council's fleet
