Council's approach to energy efficiency continues to mature. 28 facilities have had energy efficiency upgrades including replacement of 22 split systems and installation 9 electric hot water services and energy efficient LED lights. Of these 7 have been Neighbourhood houses/ Community centres, 3 x libraries, 2 children centres, 4 x toy libraries/ preschools/ playgroup and youth centres, 1 senior citizen centre, 2 maternal and child health centres, 3 activity hubs, 1 guide hall, 1 yacht club, 1 courthouse and 3 bowling clubs. Sites are selected for electrification based on: • The building user group • Infrastructure age, • Equipment efficacy • And the return on investment. A number of sites have been selected for future lighting, heating and cooling and switchboard upgrades.
In 2025, a number of sites will benefit from lighting, heating and cooling and switchboard upgrades.
