Council's Kerbside Recycling Processing contract has been retendered and awarded with evaluation criteria included to maximise environmental and recycling outcomes. Over the last 12 months, more than 12,500 tonnes of household material has been recycled. Other examples include the recycling of synthetic turf and the reprocessing of seaweed into organic fertiliser, significantly reducing waste to landfill.
