Council is always looking for opportunities to embed environmentally sustainable economic development into council operations. In 2023 Council’s Business Team introduced SECCCAs 'Small Business Climate Adaptation Toolkit' - A guide for small business owners to build climate-resilient businesses. The 'SDG Align' interactive tool was also introduced aimed at supporting businesses to understand their current impact, plan business changes and commit to ESG (environment, social and governance) actions. In addition, Council launched the inaugural Kingston Sustainable Business Awards as an opportunity for our business community to showcase and celebrate their achievements in a broad range of sustainability categories.
