Local businesses are benefiting from government rebates and loans. With Council support, businesses have also completed projects that will be eligible for the temporary full expensing tax incentive.

Description

Council promotes Environmental Upgrade Finance (EUF) and provides advice on Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) and Federal Government carbon credit units (ACCUs) for energy efficiency projects.

Council also helps businesses utilise other government incentives (ATO Temporary full expensing) and Solar Victoria rebates. Tax incentives and VEECS typically reduce the simple payback period by 40% (from 5 to 3 yrs).

At least five Kingston businesses have accessed the $3,500 rebate and $5,000 interest free loan from Solar Victoria.
