Council is facilitating onsite power generation via the development of business cases for businesses. Council is also looking at Micro Grids and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) options for larger warehouses. Virtual Solar Sharing for businesses with excess solar and multiple sites is being proposed. At one site, an income of $10,000/year from this arrangement is estimated. Where roof structures are not suitable for solar PV, solar carparks are being explored. Council is investigating sourcing renewable energy from compact wind turbines for sites with large after-hours usage.

Description

In the last 6 months at least 400kW of solar PV of has been proposed, which equates to a saving of over 540 tC02e/ year (proposed).

More than 3,200 kW of Solar PV has been already installed.
