Advocacy

Council’s confidence and ability to advocate for climate action has continued to grow. This was demonstrated during Kingston’s participation in and hosting of the SECCCA Leader’s Breakfast at Woodlands Golf Course, attended by over 60 local leaders and politicians (including the Victorian Minister for the Energy, Environment and Climate Change) and the Insurance Council of Australia.

Council also organised a tour of a Passivhaus home under construction in Mentone
involving Attorney-General Mr. Mark Dreyfus KC MP.

Council continued to participate in the Electric Vehicle Council working group and has supported EV Council led advocacy aimed at improving visibility of the low voltage electricity grid in order to facilitate energy capacity assessments at potential sites.
