Caterers, community groups and local clubs have been advised of the State Government's ban on single use plastics from 1st Feb 2023. Other plastics such as water bottles and packaging are an ongoing focus area for Council staff. Tips for reducing plastic waste have been added to Council's website and five soft plastics drop-off points are now in place across Kingston.

Description

A range of communication channels and school and community workshops and presentations are used to promote Council's soft plastics recycling service and share tips on avoiding single use plastics. Plastic cutlery and crockery are no longer used in Community Centres and Hubs and single-use plastic has not been used in sports clubs.
